“If you are searching for a condo in Cozumel your search is over! We just returned from another 10 day stay at Casa Phoenix and it was perfect! The views, large oceanfront balcony, hot tub, private bedrooms and bathrooms and being so close to town has spoiled us. Casa Phoenix has become our yearly rental and we can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It is located in the El Cantil complex and there is a great staff to help with anything you might need. The owners Bill and Alison are so easy to work with and always answer any questions you might have. I spoke with Alison before we left and she told me they had made some improvements. I thought how could you possibly improve Casa Phoenix??? Well, they did with new furniture, stainless steel appliances and tropical paint colors. We were speechless when we entered it was just beautiful. Casa Phoenix is so convenient to town and two grocery stores are right at your door. We walked to town and only rented a car for our trip around the island. If you are diving most dive shops pick up at El Cantil pier. We also love jumping off the pier and snorkeling. We couldn’t be happier with our stay. The views were spectacular, and sunset every evening was glorious. The heated infinity pool was a plus, especially when the air was cool. The ocean is easily accessible using a strong ladder that goes at least four feet down into the water, and the snorkeling right in front of the building was awesome! I swam in the ocean nearly every day, and enjoyed the beautiful fish and corals right there! Since there is no “real” beach, the property has created sand areas with palm covered umbrellas for those who want their toes in the sand. The dive boats come right to the dock and pick people up and drop them off. It was GREAT! There is always a security person on duty at the entrance, so you know you are safe in the building and at the private pool and ocean area. There is a hot tub near the pool also.
“Casa Phoenix has a 500+ square foot balcony, and four bedrooms each with a private bathroom. The kitchen appliances were top notch, too. The Chedraui grocery (and everything else) store is right across the street, so when you get groceries you just push the cart back, use the elevator to get to your condo, unload, and then take the cart back! It was FABULOUS! The San Miguel Town Square is a very short walk, and we saw local families enjoying spending time there each evening. We could walk to town easily, and had no need for a car until we wanted to explore the other side of the island. We will definitely return to Casa Phoenix.” -- -- S. A., northern CA
“Can’t beat this condo. Our family has enjoyed Casa Phoenix 7 times over the recent years, it has become the ONLY place we’ll stay when we visit Cozumel. As SCUBA divers, the amenities are second to none, a private pier is where you can be picked up each morning to be taken to world class reefs and walls. After diving, it’s only steps to a large rinse tank and secure lockers nearby to hang your gear to drip dry. Another dozen or so steps to a fresh water forever pool is where you’ll hang out and relive the day’s dives.
“We choose Casa Phoenix not just for the ease of diving though, the location is what sets it apart from the others. Across the street is the Chedraui and the Mega (sort of like Wal-Mart and Kmart), so grabbing groceries is a breeze. A leisurely 10 minute walk into town and you’re able to enjoy truly delicious restaurants at great prices. Many condo projects in Cozumel are so far south it will cost you $20 each way to and from a great dinner in town (we would NEVER stay at an all-inclusive and eat there, the food in the city of San Miguel cannot be missed). Casa Phoenix is far enough from the city to avoid the bustle and the cruise crowds, but close enough to stroll in and out when you need to.
“A LARGE part of the benefit of staying here is you only have to pay a taxi driver ONCE, and that’s just to get to the airport. Other than that, you never give those clowns a penny! The condo itself is very luxurious. Amazing sunset views, a balcony hot tub, gigantic showers and all-tile bathrooms. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you’ll need, and the full-size washer and dryer make packing so much easier. For a guy like me, that likes cold/dry air when in the Caribbean, the air conditioning is a must, and works well.

“The Ocean At Your Back Door, The Town At Your Front” is so true of beautiful Casa Phoenix! Having just returned from an exquisite stay at Casa Phoenix in enchanting Cozumel, we simply want to return to paradise! Not only is Cozumel a diver’s haven, the quaint town of San Miguel offers delicious restaurants, great shopping and terrific night life. And all of this is at your disposal from Casa Phoenix. Most everything is in short walking distance. And, diving and snorkeling are right outside. We were able to rent our gear next door and dive right off the condo pier. We also snorkeled off of the beach. There is no better view of the aqua blue Caribean Ocean than from Casa Phoenix. The living room, several bedrooms and even the kitchen has a view of the expansive ocean. It’s truly breathtaking! Because it faces west, the evenings present magnificent sunsets. At night you can see the lights from the Mayan Riviera while sitting in the hot tub. The nearby Plaza of San Miguel, with its shopping, museums, historical church, restaurants, dive shops and more is just down the street. There are trendy nightclubs, like Carlos ‘N Charlies, Senior Frogs, Fat Tuesdays, Hard Rock Cafe (the smallest in the world as a matter-of-fact). Another plus regarding the Casa Phoenix location is that the cleanest and best grocery store is just across the street. It is like a super Wal-Mart. The prices are great, including the pharmacy. The island of Cozumel boasts of Mayan ruins and pirate raids. Right off the beach/coral ocean front from Casa Phoenix lies several cannons, a cannon ball and an anchor, along with other old boat parts. What a mystery! We felt like we were swimming through “Pirates of the Caribbean”. These can be seen by either snorkeling or diving right from the pier. We truly enjoyed our stay and miss Casa Phoenix and Cozumel immensely! For Christmas we plan to bring our four young adult children with us, but don’t tell our kids, we just might have to sneak back to paradise before then!” -- -- Don and Mary King, Midland, TX
“From the moment you enter the condo, the view captivates you. It will entice you to spend early mornings with your coffee watching the cruise ships come in and the working vessels hustle here and there to fetch their cargo. It will continue to hold you captive as the sun sets and the cruise ships continue on their journeys. You will be amazed at how many pictures of sunsets on the sea one can take! If you can tear yourself away from the balcony, you will find ample opportunities to go diving, enjoy the beach setting, the pools, the shopping, the many sites and beautiful beaches. The location of this unit makes it all very easy. While you are away, the housekeeping staff will see to it that the unit is cleaned and presented as if it were your first day’s arrival. All of the El Cantil Staff will not pass without a genuine ‘Buenas Dias’. Guido’s became our favorite restaurant. The sangria is like no other we have ever had. This unit is really perfect for couples travelling together. Everyone has their own bedroom and bathroom and yet the common space is large enough for everyone to come together. “I really don’t know how we could have done better than Casa Phoenix. The unit is large and very comfortably accommodated our 2 family party of 4 adults and 4 teenagers. A huge bonus was that each bedroom had their own large and roomy bathroom. TV’s in every bedroom, although quite frankly, on this vacation the TV was rarely on. Beautiful view from the bedroom sliding glass doors that exit onto the large balcony. The living room also faces the ocean with sliding glass doors and very comfortable seating for many. The kitchen had everything we needed. One of the reasons we didn’t do much cooking in the unit is the wonderful variety of dining options in Cozumel, and all within walking distance of this condo. But we did buy lunch items and snacks for our stay & the large grocery markets couldn’t be more convenient to this location. One right across the street & one just a couple of blocks away. The outdoor area between the condo and the ocean is beautiful with its pools, deep spa and plenty of lounge seating around the pool and on a sand beach with lots of shaded thatched umbrellas. And bring your snorkel equipment because there are reefs and colorful fish to be seen in the waters right off of this property. Lastly, the staff at the condo is wonderful. So friendly…feels like we had to leave friends on our last day there. There is no doubt about where we will stay if we come back to Cozumel. We will book this unit again! Casa Phoenix was perfect for our group. Enough space for each of us to have some privacy but also enjoy our time together. “Wow, don’t even know where to start. What a wonderful place to run away from the 90+ weather in US. We rented this place for our family so we could relax in Cozumel. The best part was that everyone had their own bedroom and bathrooms so they didn’t have to share. The memory foam mattresses made sleeping a dream. The kitchen came with everything we needed plus. We got groceries at Mega and had lunch in the condo every day. We walked to town each evening after sunset (need to watch that from the balcony of the condo) and had great food every evening. Being so close to town mad it easy for the kids (ages 18,20 & 22) to go to eat on their own a couple nights. We loved relaxing in the pool and hanging out in the ocean. “Just wanted to thank you for the use of your WONDERFUL condo! We decided this has to be the absolute best place to stay in Cozumel.
Not only is Casa Phoenix beautiful with everything you could possibly need, but it is in the perfect location, easy walking distance to town, restaurants, shopping and even the Mexican version of Wal-Mart right across the street which we visited quite often. We never needed a taxi or to rent a car.
The staff were helpful and always had a smile on their face. We would love to steal your maid! She made sure that everything stayed spotless the entire time we were there.
It was so difficult this morning not sitting on the deck watching the dive boats go out and cruise ships come in. Thought we were going to have to leave our teenage daughter there, she was teary-eyed the entire trip home. She has announced no more shopping, birthday or Christmas gifts — all she wants for her high school graduation gift next summer is for us to go back to Cozumel. This was her first time diving and she loves it.

Needless to say we are already planning on coming back next year. My family members were thrilled with the accommodations. We saved a ton on breakfast with the very complete kitchen.
We were all very impressed with your interior decoration. However, of all the impressive things, I was most impressed with the Henkels cutlery and the very complete set of flatware. As a chef want-a-be, things like that are important to me.

“We love your little piece of paradise and are so glad we were able to come and enjoy it to the fullest. Your instructions were very helpful and we managed our airport transfers smoothly. All went well from the moment we arrived. First day, we were immediately impressed by our accommodations as we walked in the door, and then the view from the spacious balcony beckoned. We stepped out to mild breezes, clear skies and the varied hues of blue green water. It was already a great vacay! The beds are very comfortable. Having filtered water is a wonderful convenience. Wi-Fi and telephone availability is a huge plus. We enjoyed the shopping experience at the supermarket on our first day and it was so convenient to be across the street. You really don’t need a car as the area is walkable and we felt quite safe. Every amenity is attended to at Casa Phoenix. The delightful staff of EL Cantil worked tirelessly to ensure we had everything we needed. Snorkeling right outside the condo has plenty to offer in the underwater world of coral, spiny urchins, conchs, colorful schools of fish — we even saw a lobster! Food is great at all the area restaurants we tried and we prefer the local mom and pop to the large chains, but there is something for everybody. Some faves are: Albertos, Corona Bar and our top choice, Casa Mission, had a great mariachi band and we would go back for their great atmosphere, food and very good value. Bargaining at the little shops in town is a lot of fun if you have the time.As I sit here writing this review, I pine to be sitting back on the balcony with a (margarita) view of another beautiful sunset and hope it won’t be too long before I am able to return to Casa Phoenix.” -- -- Karen Willrodt, Houston, Texas
